About CastleStorm

Two opposing castles (the player’s and the enemy’s) combat one other. Each side has a collapsible castle and fortifications and an army that attacks the opposing castle. While the specific objective varies from level to level, destruction of the enemy’s castle and troops via the projectile launcher is the primary gameplay mechanic.

The game challenges both dexterity and mind. The player must have a steady but quick hand to fire accurate shots at a fast pace. The player must decide when it is appropriate to use different ammo types to best accomplish goals. The player must also prioritize short and long-term goals within the current level, with the need to play offensively or defensively changing from moment to moment. Since each level has its own structure and goals, strategic gameplay remains varied and challenging.

Key Features

CastleStorm represents a new breed of tower defense warefare, combining elements of real time strategy, resource management, and a beautiful blend of challenging gameplay scenarios.

Multiplayer battles and Co-op play! CastleStorm features multiple modes of multiplayer action for both local and online play

- 1 vs. 1 split-screen mode, simply try and beat your opponent
- Competitive multiplayer: rank up, battle for gold, and upgrade your army, castle and gears to become the ruler of online battlefields.
- Co-op survival: team up with a friend and fight off endless waves of enemies together!

Build stuff! CastleStorm features a tower construction editor that allows players to construct their own custom castles that will be used in battle. Castles must be constructed wisely, as choices determine which types of troops and resources will be available during battle!

Twelve incredibly beautiful environments and immersive storyline, in stunning stereoscopic 3D. Sir Gareth leads his troops into battle against the raging Vikings to recover the stolen gem and bring peace to the realm!

Multiple paths to victory – you can choose how to defeat your enemy. Capture the flag, destroy their castle, or complete another predetermined level objective in order to claim victory. Each level features multiple objectives, each with their own rewards!

An arsenal that would make any medieval warrior proud! Harness the power of medieval ballista weaponry, and launch an assortment of explosive weapons including Morningstars, Apple Grenades, Homing Eagles, and even flying sheep to defeat an onslaught of enemies trying to capture your flag and destroy your castle. Deploy a fearsome ground attack of swordsmen, knights, and donkey riders in order to protect your castle games, and if all else fails, call upon powerful spells to help keep the enemy at bay.

You’ve won the battle, now power up so you can win the war! As you power up in CastleStorm, new weapons and troop classes become available for use in battle.

Hi, Just downloaded the beta of CastleStorm on my Nvidia Shield and I am really enjoying it. Just would like to know if the final version will have full Shield controller support?, similar to the PS Vita, PS, and Xbox; as certain buttons are not used and you have to pinch and zoom with your fingers as opposed to using the buttons to perform game functions.
Again, I think the game looks and plays great and am looking forward to the
        final version.

  3. Justin says:

  7. Mark says:

Can’t wait! Excited for 360, but could see it being really cool with the WiiU gamepad.

The graphics look great. Is it running on Unity?

  12. Tom says:

Did you guys buy the rights to Age of War? Because this looks like an extremely polished clone of it. I’m not saying you guys stole the idea, but I was just wondering the legal stuff that went on behind the scenes. I can’t find any info online about anyone noticing similarities, but even the song and the way the coins pop up over the defeated enemies heads are kind of the same. Does the guy who worked on Age of War work for you? I’ve always loved age of war and played 1 and 2 and I’m excited to see this on Wii U when you eventually release it. Are you releasing the different consoles one at a time (with xbox being first) or trying to do as many as possible at once?

    • BarbieBobomb says:

No, we didn’t buy the rights to any other games for this, but it was inspired by many other great games.

  13. Craig says:

Is it still scheduled for spring?

  14. Craig says:

    release date is May 29th

  15. Andreas says:

The game is up on XBLA, but for some reason there is no option to try the trial version! (Not on either…) Perhaps this is getting fixed as we speak, otherwise you might want to check out what has happened.

At least the screenshots look good… ;)

  16. Tony says:

Is the Vita version still planned? Haven’t seen much about it in a long time.

  17. Joel says:

Loved this game, it just makes me happy to play it. All from the cozy setting and humor, the design, music and gameplay.

Had it pre-ordered on steam and bought the DLC “From outcast to savior” in a heartbeat. So my only question is, will there be more DLC to this game? :)

  18. good man says:

  21. Dakota Bonez says:

Whoah I wasn’t expectin this game to come out til spring!
Can’t believe its on the eShop already.
Tryin to download it but I guess everyone else is too because the download keeps crashing.
But seriously the first thing I thought of when I saw this was Age Of War. The theme song and gameplay seem so similar. XD Seems I wasn’t the only one to notice. Although this game looks vastly superior, plus the online and multiplayer are what I always wanted in age of war. Cant wait for the download to finish!

  22. Tigerscub says:

  23. seba says:

  25. Onyx0wl says:

I’ve been loving playing this with friends (particularly survival) on the wii u. How come the 360 version has expansion DLC and the wii u one doesn’t? Will we be getting it soon?

  26. JJ says:

Hello from Japan. Thank you for the great game. ^^
By the way, Japanese subtitle of the second DLC (The Warrior Queen) does not appear.
I would like you to fix If it is not just a matter of me.
    Version is xbox360.

  27. JJ says:

  28. Araseo says:

Is there no chance of the Wii U version being updated to play with Classic Controller Pro? I have no gamepad pros and I want to play multiplayer so bad :( thanks in advance

  29. Cave says:

The first thing that I immediately thought of was Age of War. In fact, the game feels a lot like Age of War, however graphically different. The same song was also used. “Glorious Morning” was the song used in Age of War, and as it seems that same song is part of the game. Does the creator of Age of War support you, or did he sell you the rights? Does he work for you?

  30. Norman says:

I’ve been playing on iOS for a while now and just trying to earn all stars. Not sure if its a bug on the Beast Hunter level but i’ve converted 9 beast to try and earn the third star for converting 5 beast and at the end I still can’t earn it?

    Regarding CastleStorm-FreeToSiege game app…
Hello there, congratulations on this great game! I have a very important issue since I upgraded to Android 5.0 in my Nexus 4: the game crashes at the very beginning just before the ad ends. It has happened to many apps that were instantly fixed. Please do so as well as I am really keen on playing the new mode and keeping up with my daily bonuses. Thank you ;)

  32. sharontate says:
